Banish the winter blahs –– come visit HSC! We have several exciting opportunities on the horizon that I want to share with you. First up, e3,our premier dining event, will be February 23rd from 5 until 8:30 pm.
Tickets are selling fast, and for only $45 you too can enjoy amazing appetizers, live entertainment, a silent auction, and our unique twist on dessert. This event always sells out so don’t wait until the last minute!

On March 9th come celebrate our 19th birthday. We’ll open our doors for a free day at HSC with  refreshments, a multimedia show, and several science demonstrations. This is also a great time to renew
your membership or surprise a friend with a membership to HSC, and through our Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Passport Program, enjoy reciprocal membership to over 330 other
science museums throughout the country and world! It’s a great time to be a member!

The Works is coming on March 13th and 14th and you need to join us for family engineering night! The Works is a hands-on museum in Bloomington that makes learning about engineering, science and technology interesting, understandable, and fun. HSC and The Works are joining forces on March 13th and 14th to offer workshops and classroom visits to educators in our community and region. On the evening of Wednesday, March 13th, HSC will co-host Family Engineering Night with The Works. Come join us as we engage in some hands-on engineering projects. This is also a free event, thanks to generous support from Karvakko Engineering, and will be a lot of fun for everyone!

Finally, if you happen to take a trip this winter, take us along! Did you know that your HSC membership allows you entrance to over 330 other science museums throughout the United Sates and the World? It’s
true! Membership is a great way to be an important part of HSC and is portable. The next time you take a trip, visit ASTC.org to fi nd a list of science centers to visit on your vacation. Take a picture of yourself
with your membership card in front of the participating museum and we’ll feature you in the next issue of The Current. How far can your HSC membership take you?

I look forward to seeing you at one of our exciting events, or your picture in front of another science center!
Happy New Year
Susan
